Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) and Paraplegic Center will make joint efforts for the rehabilitation of Persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The decision came up during the visit of PBM’s Managing Director Amir Fida Paracha to Paraplegic Center in Hayatabad, Peshawar. On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Center, Ilyas Syed gave a detailed briefing highlighting all the rehabilitative measures for the PWDs.
Mr. Paracha, while appreciating the services of Paraplegic Center, said that it is very important to give the socio-economic rights to PWDs ensuring their mobility and enabling them to live an independent life ahead being a useful citizen of the country.
Underlining the eminent services of PBM for the rehabilitation of PWDs, Managing Director PBM told the customized and standard wheelchairs, hearing aids, artificial limbs and other modern assistive devices are also being provided to them along with the financial assistance
CEO Paraplegic Centre, Ilyas Syed expressed his gratitude to PBM Chief for extending the support and cooperation to the centre. He said the mutual cooperation between both the organizations will ensure the best services to the PWDs.
Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and Paraplegic Center will work together to provide the customized wheelchairs and other modern assistive devices to the disabled persons. Along with this, the PWDs will also be offered Vocational Training Curses.
Later on, Managing Director Amir Fida Paracha visited PBM’s provincial office in Peshawar and while taking a briefing on the organization’s ongoing welfare projects in KPK province, he instructed to take all the possible measures for betterment of the poor people there. He also paid visit to the Sweet Home established at Jamrud (Khyber Agency) and while reviewing the facilities provided to the orphan children residing there, Managing Director PBM directed the concerned staff to ensure their best upbringing and education in neat and clean environment.
