On the occasion of International Wheelchair Day, a ceremony was held at the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal head office today to distribute wheelchairs among deserving individuals. During the ceremony, Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Syed Tariq Mahmood Al-Hassan, distributed wheelchairs among special individuals and listened to their issues. Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is running a Special Friends Program on a permanent basis for the rehabilitation of special individuals, under which not only customized wheelchairs are provided but also financial assistance is given. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Tariq Mahmood Al-Hassan said that special individuals are our assets and we will take further steps for their rehabilitation. At present, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is providing thirty thousand rupees in addition to wheelchairs to needy disabled individuals, as well as hearing aids, white canes, and artificial limbs. Needy special individuals can obtain assistance by submitting their identity card or B-form along with a disability certificate to the office and attaching details of medical expenses incurred for treatment from any government hospital for artificial limbs.
