Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar belongs to a reputable family of Lahore, having earned a respectable name in the field of politics and social services. He is a well-known proficient socio-political figure of the country with the credit of carrying out the numerous humanitarian activities. He has also been very instrumental in leading the multiple political struggles fearlessly against corruption, political rigging and social injustice.
Malik Zaheer Abbas Graduated from University of the Punjab and also completed his LLB degree in a prominent position from Forman Christian College, Lahore. He is also a practicing advocate and successfully represents the clients in front of Lahore High Court and District Courts in various matters like civil litigation about land disputes as well as civil, tax & banking related issues. There are numerous reported judgments to the credit of Malik Zaheer Abbas, showing the variety of cases he has conducted. He has also attended a number of conferences and seminars and professional development courses to broaden his legal knowledge and approach.
He was elected as Member of National Assembly in 2003 and also performed as a member Standing Committees in National Assembly on Finance and Foreign Affairs. Malik Zaheer Abbas, along with the Speaker National Assembly, also represented the country in “International Parliamentary Session” in Geneva (Switzerland) and “General Assembly Session” of United Nation Organization (UNO) in New York, USA.
He remained Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf in Lahore region for around two years, then he was also made member central executive committee of the party and following that, the leadership given him the responsibility as President of the party for Lahore (Rural). After the elections in 2018, the leadership made him President of the party for Lahore, southern region. He looked after the affairs of his party in a cordial and transparent way and thus earned more respect and dignity.
Malik Zaheer Abbas is blessed with gifted qualities to express his views and feelings through spoken and words in writings. His political wisdom, uprightness, and vast experience in the field of humanitarian assistance led him to be selected by the present Government as Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal in April, 2021.
